By: Ben Diaz  On: Fri 20 of Jan., 2012 11:28 EST  (335 Reads)
The CBBCA is seeking input from all residents of our community regarding facilities, services and other infrastructure in and around Constance Bay. The purpose of this survey is to identify and prioritize the initiatives to be pursued with the City of Ottawa and other organizations. The survey results shall also be consolidated and summarized to provide data to the City of Ottawa for inclusion in the next release of the official Community Plan for the Village of Constance Bay. All individual responses will be confidential.

Your response to this survey is the most important aspect of defining the current needs and desires of our community. This is your community and we need your support to get it right!

Need-a/Share-a-Ride

By: Ben Diaz  On: Thu 01 of Dec., 2011 11:29 EST  (832 Reads)
The CBBCA would like to create a Need-a/Share-a-Ride program for those in the village who do not drive or have no transport and those who may have time and resources to provide transport. Every day residents of the Bay drive to Kanata or Bayshore or Arnprior for shopping or medical appointments, etc. Meantime, there are folks in the Bay who, for a number of reasons, do not have their own transport out of the Bay.

The CBBCA is looking to find a way to bring these two groups together. This would be a volunteer, no cost service, and the parties involved would have to work out the details of when and where the transport is needed

The first stage in this is to gauge the level of interest in a Need-a/Share-a-Ride and the likely number of participants. So we would like your feedback on this, and you can do that by Clicking Here to fill out the form or contacting Ian Glen at or 832-1225.

NEED A HAND?

By: System Administrator  On: Thu 01 of Dec., 2011 11:21 EST  (7087 Reads)
H.A.N.D.S. ~ (Hire A Neighbour’s Daughter or Son)
H.A.N.D.S. is a community program that was started by the Constance & Buckham’s Bay Community Association in 2007 and is still very much alive and well. A brokerage of sorts, it helps match people who need odd jobs done around the house & yard, with willing and able youth (ages 12 ~ 15) to hire. It is designed to enable a young person to gain experience and confidence before formally entering the formal workforce, creating an opportunity for them to develop a resume and home good work ethic. These attributes may be used for future employment and show example of their reliability, determination and commitment. Members of the community, including parents, are given a terrific opportunity to offer guidance, advice and possible mentoring...as the saying goes, "It takes a village to raise children". The residual benefit of H.A.N.D.S. is that it provides a wonderful vehicle for neighbours to get to know one another and make our little village stronger and better for it. If you have a job that fits this bill or if you have a daughter or son who would like their name on the roster, please call or email the H.A.N.D.S. liaison Jo-Ann? Campbell at (613)832-3554 or .
